# Anova Culinary vs Roast Perfect

The clearest difference is rating: Anova Culinary at 4.4 against Roast Perfect's 3.5. Anova Culinary also leads on ratings volume (26K vs 114) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Roast Perfect's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and review sentiment (55% vs 32%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Anova Culinary sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Roast Perfect asks for nothing beyond the download.

Anova Culinary holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Anova Culinary has 26K ratings behind it against 114, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Anova Culinary's written reviews are positive against 55% of Roast Perfect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Anova Culinary ships an update monthly, Roast Perfect every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
