# Anova Culinary vs Pit Boss Grills

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Pit Boss Grills at none against Anova Culinary's 2. Pit Boss Grills also leads on review sentiment (52% vs 32%). Anova Culinary's advantage is rating (4.4 vs 4.0) and ratings volume (26K vs 2.4K). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Anova Culinary sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Pit Boss Grills asks for nothing beyond the download.

Anova Culinary holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Anova Culinary has 26K ratings behind it against 2.4K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 32% of Anova Culinary's written reviews are positive against 52% of Pit Boss Grills's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
