# Simian Projects vs Futurwise

The clearest difference is rating: Simian Projects at 4.4 against Futurwise's 3.0. Simian Projects also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). Futurwise's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 21 months) and review sentiment (67% vs 50%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Futurwise sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Simian Projects asks for nothing beyond the download.

Simian Projects holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Simian Projects has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Simian Projects's written reviews are positive against 67% of Futurwise's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Simian Projects ships an update every 21 months, Futurwise monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 3, 2026 and September 15, 2026 respectively.
