# Star Wars vs BrickScan

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Star Wars at none against BrickScan's 2. BrickScan's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.4) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BrickScan sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Star Wars asks for nothing beyond the download.

BrickScan holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2K and 1.6K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 66% of Star Wars's written reviews are positive against 60% of BrickScan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Star Wars ships an update every 2 months, BrickScan weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
