# WordBoard vs LazyBoard

The clearest difference is monetization model: WordBoard at free with in-app purchases against LazyBoard's subscription. WordBoard also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (5.6K vs 588). LazyBoard's advantage is device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (16 vs 18.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WordBoard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and LazyBoard sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WordBoard holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordBoard has 5.6K ratings behind it against 588, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of WordBoard's written reviews are positive against 72% of LazyBoard's.

WordBoard ships an update every 3 weeks, LazyBoard fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
