# WordBoard vs Literature Clock

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Literature Clock at none against WordBoard's 3. WordBoard's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 24 months) and ratings volume (5.6K vs 12). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WordBoard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Literature Clock asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for WordBoard against 4.8 for Literature Clock. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordBoard has 5.6K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 77% and 78% positive.

WordBoard ships an update every 3 weeks, Literature Clock every 24 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 27, 2026 respectively.
