# WordBoard vs Encryptor

The clearest difference is rating: WordBoard at 4.9 against Encryptor's 4.0. WordBoard also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (5.6K vs 29). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WordBoard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Encryptor sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WordBoard holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordBoard has 5.6K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of WordBoard's written reviews are positive against 57% of Encryptor's.

WordBoard ships an update every 3 weeks, Encryptor fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
