# WordBoard vs Timr

The clearest difference is rating: WordBoard at 4.9 against Timr's 4.5. WordBoard also leads on review sentiment (77% vs 57%) and ratings volume (5.6K vs 176). Timr's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WordBoard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Timr sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.69 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WordBoard holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WordBoard has 5.6K ratings behind it against 176, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 77% of WordBoard's written reviews are positive against 57% of Timr's.

WordBoard ships an update every 3 weeks, Timr weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
