# The Darkside vs Horror Sci

The clearest difference is ads: The Darkside at none against Horror Sci's shown. The Darkside also leads on ratings volume (6 vs 1) and iOS requirement (10.0 vs 13.0). On price, rating, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Darkside sells 21 in-app purchases, starting at $28.49 per year and Horror Sci sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for The Darkside against 5.0 for Horror Sci. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Darkside has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

The Darkside ships an update every 16 months, Horror Sci every 18 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
