# Mere Bible vs Anchor

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Anchor at 100% against Mere Bible's 73%. Anchor also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 2 weeks). Mere Bible's advantage is monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and ratings volume (543 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mere Bible sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Anchor sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Anchor holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mere Bible has 543 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of Mere Bible's written reviews are positive against 100% of Anchor's.

Mere Bible ships an update every 2 weeks, Anchor every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
