# Château de Pau vs italki

The clearest difference is rating: italki at 4.8 against Château de Pau's 3.0. italki also leads on ratings volume (9.9K vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks). Château de Pau's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and ads (none vs shown). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. italki sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Château de Pau asks for nothing beyond the download.

italki holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: italki has 9.9K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Château de Pau's written reviews are positive against 68% of italki's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
