# Wanderu vs dCover

The clearest difference is monetization model: dCover at free against Wanderu's free with in-app purchases. dCover also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). Wanderu's advantage is ratings volume (5.7K vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

dCover holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Wanderu has 5.7K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
