# Streaks vs Essential Gyms

The clearest difference is price: Essential Gyms at Free against Streaks's $5.99. Essential Gyms also leads on iOS requirement (13.0.0 vs 17.6). Streaks's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 19 months) and ratings volume (27K vs 1). On rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Essential Gyms is free to download; Streaks costs $5.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Essential Gyms holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Streaks has 27K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Streaks ships an update every 2 weeks, Essential Gyms every 19 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
