# HideMe! vs VPN proxy

The clearest difference is update cadence: HideMe! at weekly against VPN proxy's every 2 months. HideMe! also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.7). VPN proxy's advantage is ratings volume (8.1K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. HideMe! sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and VPN proxy sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

HideMe! holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN proxy has 8.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

HideMe! ships an update weekly, VPN proxy every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
