# Membit vs Life Lapse Stop Motion

The clearest difference is rating: Life Lapse Stop Motion at 4.8 against Membit's 4.3. Life Lapse Stop Motion also leads on ratings volume (9.5K vs 17) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). Membit's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 6) and review sentiment (100% vs 69%). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Life Lapse Stop Motion sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Membit asks for nothing beyond the download.

Life Lapse Stop Motion holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Life Lapse Stop Motion has 9.5K ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Membit's written reviews are positive against 69% of Life Lapse Stop Motion's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Membit ships an update every 5 weeks, Life Lapse Stop Motion every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
