# DS router vs IP Tools

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: DS router at none against IP Tools's 1. DS router also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (1.4K vs 37). IP Tools's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (59% vs 42%). On price, rating and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IP Tools sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. DS router asks for nothing beyond the download.

DS router holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DS router has 1.4K ratings behind it against 37, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 42% of DS router's written reviews are positive against 59% of IP Tools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DS router ships an update every 3 months, IP Tools monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 13, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
