# sciebo vs ownCloud Online

The clearest difference is rating: ownCloud Online at 5.0 against sciebo's 1.0. ownCloud Online also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 12 months) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). sciebo's advantage is review sentiment (12% vs 0%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.4). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ownCloud Online holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ownCloud Online has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 12% of sciebo's written reviews are positive against 0% of ownCloud Online's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

sciebo ships an update every 12 months, ownCloud Online every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
