# BetterUp vs Wisq

The clearest difference is monetization model: Wisq at free against BetterUp's free with in-app purchases. Wisq also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). BetterUp's advantage is ratings volume (435 vs 18) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Wisq holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BetterUp has 435 ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BetterUp ships an update weekly, Wisq every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
