# Zapmap vs Congestion Zone App

The clearest difference is monetization model: Zapmap at freemium against Congestion Zone App's subscription. Zapmap also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 9 months) and rating (4.5 vs 4.3). Congestion Zone App's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Zapmap sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Congestion Zone App sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Zapmap holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zapmap has 96 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 30% of Zapmap's written reviews are positive against 23% of Congestion Zone App's.

Zapmap ships an update fortnightly, Congestion Zone App every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
