# HerdMetrix vs SDGEV Charge

The clearest difference is update cadence: SDGEV Charge at every 2 weeks against HerdMetrix's every 5 months. SDGEV Charge also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 11.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

HerdMetrix ships an update every 5 months, SDGEV Charge every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
