# ViCare vs Messana

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ViCare at 41% against Messana's 0%. ViCare also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 3) and update cadence (every 9 days vs monthly). Messana's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ViCare sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Messana asks for nothing beyond the download.

Messana holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ViCare has 1.3K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 41% of ViCare's written reviews are positive against 0% of Messana's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ViCare ships an update every 9 days, Messana monthly. Both last shipped on October 29, 2026.
