# Countdown vs Whenish

The clearest difference is rating: Countdown at 4.6 against Whenish's 4.3. Countdown also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (162 vs 17). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Countdown sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Whenish sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Countdown holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Countdown has 162 ratings behind it against 17, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 70% and 70% positive.

Countdown ships an update fortnightly, Whenish every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
