# Drum Kit vs Exciting Drum Kit

The clearest difference is update cadence: Exciting Drum Kit at every 2 months against Drum Kit's every 10 months. Exciting Drum Kit also leads on iOS requirement (8.0 vs 15.0). Drum Kit's advantage is ratings volume (49 vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drum Kit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Exciting Drum Kit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.5 for Drum Kit against 3.5 for Exciting Drum Kit. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Drum Kit has 49 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Drum Kit ships an update every 10 months, Exciting Drum Kit every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 11, 2026 respectively.
