# iSmokeHog vs ThermoWorks

The clearest difference is rating: ThermoWorks at 4.8 against iSmokeHog's 4.3. ThermoWorks also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 39 months) and ratings volume (17K vs 7). iSmokeHog's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 65%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 15.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

ThermoWorks holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ThermoWorks has 17K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of iSmokeHog's written reviews are positive against 65% of ThermoWorks's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

iSmokeHog ships an update every 39 months, ThermoWorks monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
