# Mindtickle vs Active IQ

The clearest difference is monetization model: Active IQ at free against Mindtickle's freemium. Active IQ also leads on review sentiment (55% vs 33%) and iOS requirement (13.4 vs 15.0). Mindtickle's advantage is ratings volume (233 vs 5) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 5 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.9 for Mindtickle against 4.0 for Active IQ. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mindtickle has 233 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 33% of Mindtickle's written reviews are positive against 55% of Active IQ's.

Mindtickle ships an update every 10 days, Active IQ every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
