# Pancake vs Master Cut

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Pancake at 67% against Master Cut's 23%. Pancake also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1) and ads (none vs shown). Master Cut's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 months) and rating (4.4 vs 4.2). On price, ratings volume, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Master Cut sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Pancake asks for nothing beyond the download.

Master Cut holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 4.2. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 841 and 1.4K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Pancake's written reviews are positive against 23% of Master Cut's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Pancake ships an update every 3 months, Master Cut weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 10, 2026 respectively.
