# Real vs Back translation

The clearest difference is ads: Real at none against Back translation's shown. Real also leads on iOS requirement (8.1 vs 18.0). Back translation's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Real ships an update every 2 months, Back translation fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
