# Photo Compress vs Image Compressor+

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Photo Compress at 3.5K against Image Compressor+'s 3. Photo Compress also leads on update cadence (every 2 months vs every 10 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.3). Image Compressor+'s advantage is iOS requirement (15.0 vs 18.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Photo Compress sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and Image Compressor+ sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Photo Compress holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Photo Compress has 3.5K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Photo Compress ships an update every 2 months, Image Compressor+ every 10 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
