# Cryptogram Tale vs WordCode

The clearest difference is update cadence: WordCode at fortnightly against Cryptogram Tale's every 3 months. Cryptogram Tale's advantage is ratings volume (1.6K vs 2). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cryptogram Tale sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and WordCode sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.6 for Cryptogram Tale against 4.5 for WordCode. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cryptogram Tale has 1.6K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Cryptogram Tale ships an update every 3 months, WordCode fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
