# thermometer pro vs Thermometer

The clearest difference is rating: Thermometer at 3.8 against thermometer pro's 3.1. Thermometer also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (79 vs 14). thermometer pro's advantage is review sentiment (55% vs 17%) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On price, ads, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Thermometer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. thermometer pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

Thermometer holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Thermometer has 79 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 55% of thermometer pro's written reviews are positive against 17% of Thermometer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

thermometer pro ships an update every 13 months, Thermometer every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
