# Diary Locked vs Secure Daily Diary

The clearest difference is rating: Secure Daily Diary at 4.6 against Diary Locked's 3.2. Secure Daily Diary also leads on ratings volume (452 vs 5). Diary Locked's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 1) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 14.0). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secure Daily Diary sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Diary Locked asks for nothing beyond the download.

Secure Daily Diary holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure Daily Diary has 452 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Diary Locked's written reviews are positive against 71% of Secure Daily Diary's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
