# Diary Locked vs Diary with lock

The clearest difference is rating: Diary with lock at 4.3 against Diary Locked's 3.2. Diary with lock also leads on ratings volume (1.2K vs 5). Diary Locked's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, review sentiment, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Diary with lock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Diary Locked asks for nothing beyond the download.

Diary with lock holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Diary with lock has 1.2K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Diary Locked's written reviews are positive against 66% of Diary with lock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Diary Locked ships an update every 3 weeks, Diary with lock every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 2, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
