# Power Thesaurus vs Thesaurus

The clearest difference is rating: Power Thesaurus at 4.8 against Thesaurus's 1.0. Power Thesaurus also leads on ratings volume (3.1K vs 1). Thesaurus's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ads (none vs shown). On price, update cadence and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Power Thesaurus sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Thesaurus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Power Thesaurus holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Power Thesaurus has 3.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Power Thesaurus's written reviews are positive against 100% of Thesaurus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Power Thesaurus ships an update monthly, Thesaurus every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
