# WCETV vs OttPlayertv

The clearest difference is rating: OttPlayertv at 4.5 against WCETV's 4.0. OttPlayertv also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (9.3K vs 9). WCETV's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 48%) and iOS requirement (7.0 vs 14.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

OttPlayertv holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OttPlayertv has 9.3K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of WCETV's written reviews are positive against 48% of OttPlayertv's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WCETV ships an update every 5 months, OttPlayertv fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
