# BandLab vs Loop Maker

The clearest difference is ads: Loop Maker at none against BandLab's shown. Loop Maker also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). BandLab's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly) and review sentiment (77% vs 50%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BandLab sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month and Loop Maker sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BandLab holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BandLab has 513K ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. BandLab ships an update every 4 days, Loop Maker monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
