# Elo Challenge vs Tournament Maker

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Elo Challenge at 100% against Tournament Maker's 57%. Elo Challenge also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 8). Tournament Maker's advantage is rating (4.2 vs 3.0) and ratings volume (774 vs 3). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tournament Maker sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Elo Challenge asks for nothing beyond the download.

Tournament Maker holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Tournament Maker has 774 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Elo Challenge's written reviews are positive against 57% of Tournament Maker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Elo Challenge ships an update every 2 months, Tournament Maker every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 9, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
