# Death Lens vs Shineye

The clearest difference is price: Shineye at Free against Death Lens's $1.99. Shineye also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 3 months). Death Lens's advantage is rating (3.8 vs 1.0) and ratings volume (109 vs 1). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Shineye is free to download; Death Lens costs $1.99 up front. Death Lens sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Shineye sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Death Lens holds the better App Store score, 3.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Death Lens has 109 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Death Lens ships an update every 3 months, Shineye monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
