# DroneDeploy Flight App vs DronePan

The clearest difference is rating: DroneDeploy Flight App at 4.7 against DronePan's 3.9. DroneDeploy Flight App also leads on ratings volume (5.3K vs 7) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). DronePan's advantage is review sentiment (61% vs 40%) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DroneDeploy Flight App holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DroneDeploy Flight App has 5.3K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of DroneDeploy Flight App's written reviews are positive against 61% of DronePan's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DroneDeploy Flight App ships an update fortnightly, DronePan every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 5, 2026 respectively.
