# DroneDeploy Flight App vs Sky Rider GPS

The clearest difference is rating: DroneDeploy Flight App at 4.7 against Sky Rider GPS's 3.2. DroneDeploy Flight App also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 13 months) and ratings volume (5.3K vs 29). Sky Rider GPS's advantage is review sentiment (64% vs 40%) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DroneDeploy Flight App holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DroneDeploy Flight App has 5.3K ratings behind it against 29, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of DroneDeploy Flight App's written reviews are positive against 64% of Sky Rider GPS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DroneDeploy Flight App ships an update fortnightly, Sky Rider GPS every 13 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
