# DroneDeploy Flight App vs FreeFlight 7

The clearest difference is review sentiment: FreeFlight 7 at 100% against DroneDeploy Flight App's 40%. FreeFlight 7 also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). DroneDeploy Flight App's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 3.3) and ratings volume (5.3K vs 6). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

DroneDeploy Flight App holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DroneDeploy Flight App has 5.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 40% of DroneDeploy Flight App's written reviews are positive against 100% of FreeFlight 7's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

DroneDeploy Flight App ships an update fortnightly, FreeFlight 7 monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
