# Catholic Answers vs Formed

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Catholic Answers at none against Formed's 9. Formed's advantage is review sentiment (99% vs 86%) and ratings volume (14K vs 2.3K). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Formed sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Catholic Answers asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for Catholic Answers against 4.9 for Formed. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Formed has 14K ratings behind it against 2.3K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 86% of Catholic Answers's written reviews are positive against 99% of Formed's.

Catholic Answers ships an update monthly, Formed every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
