# CuriosityStream vs Fox Signals

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Fox Signals at 100% against CuriosityStream's 31%. Fox Signals also leads on monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). CuriosityStream's advantage is rating (4.6 vs 3.7) and ads (none vs shown). On price, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CuriosityStream sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Fox Signals sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CuriosityStream holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CuriosityStream has 6.3K ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 31% of CuriosityStream's written reviews are positive against 100% of Fox Signals's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CuriosityStream ships an update monthly, Fox Signals fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
