# CuriosityStream vs Purring Cats

The clearest difference is rating: CuriosityStream at 4.6 against Purring Cats's 3.6. CuriosityStream also leads on review sentiment (31% vs 0%) and ratings volume (6.3K vs 8). Purring Cats's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, ads, in-app purchases and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CuriosityStream sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Purring Cats sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
