# Plain Flashcards vs Knowkard

The clearest difference is rating: Knowkard at 5.0 against Plain Flashcards's 4.4. Knowkard also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 18.0). Plain Flashcards's advantage is ratings volume (311 vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Plain Flashcards sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and Knowkard sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Knowkard holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Plain Flashcards has 311 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Plain Flashcards ships an update weekly, Knowkard every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
