# Stream Journal vs Mindlist

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Stream Journal at none against Mindlist's 1. Stream Journal also leads on review sentiment (89% vs 76%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 17.0). Mindlist's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (1.6K vs 11). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mindlist sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Stream Journal asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Stream Journal against 4.7 for Mindlist. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mindlist has 1.6K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two.
