# Backgammon King vs Backgammon Multiplayer

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Backgammon Multiplayer at 100% against Backgammon King's 15%. Backgammon Multiplayer also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 4 months). Backgammon King's advantage is rating (3.6 vs 2.5) and in-app purchases (none vs 1). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backgammon Multiplayer sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Backgammon King asks for nothing beyond the download.

Backgammon King holds the better App Store score, 3.6 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Backgammon King has 150 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 15% of Backgammon King's written reviews are positive against 100% of Backgammon Multiplayer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Backgammon King ships an update every 4 months, Backgammon Multiplayer every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on August 14, 2026 and September 27, 2026 respectively.
