# Word Pickle vs Text Twirl

The clearest difference is rating: Text Twirl at 5.0 against Word Pickle's 4.6. Text Twirl also leads on update cadence (every 6 weeks vs every 6 months). Word Pickle's advantage is ratings volume (69 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Word Pickle sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Text Twirl sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Twirl holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Word Pickle has 69 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Word Pickle ships an update every 6 months, Text Twirl every 6 weeks. Both last shipped on October 13, 2026.
