# FTA vs iMarkdown

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: FTA at none against iMarkdown's 3. FTA also leads on ratings volume (10 vs 1) and review sentiment (100% vs 90%). iMarkdown's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 2 months). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iMarkdown sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. FTA asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for FTA against 5.0 for iMarkdown. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FTA has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of FTA's written reviews are positive against 90% of iMarkdown's.

FTA ships an update every 2 months, iMarkdown every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
