# Notebook vs WhoeverNote

The clearest difference is ads: Notebook at none against WhoeverNote's shown. Notebook also leads on ratings volume (24K vs 2) and update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). WhoeverNote's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notebook sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and WhoeverNote sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WhoeverNote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notebook has 24K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of Notebook's written reviews are positive against 53% of WhoeverNote's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notebook ships an update every 6 days, WhoeverNote monthly. Both last shipped on October 17, 2026.
