# Notebook vs Photo Pages

The clearest difference is monetization model: Notebook at free with in-app purchases against Photo Pages's subscription. Notebook also leads on ratings volume (24K vs 12) and update cadence (every 6 days vs monthly). Photo Pages's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notebook sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.49 per month and Photo Pages sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.49 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Photo Pages holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notebook has 24K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 73% of Notebook's written reviews are positive against 67% of Photo Pages's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Notebook ships an update every 6 days, Photo Pages monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
